Get Trained in TF-CBT
Our TF-CBT training program is designed for MN-based therapists to learn the basics of TF-CBT as well as advanced applications of TF-CBT to special populations/clinical presentations such as: foster care, African-American youth, youth on the autism spectrum, LGBTQ+ youth, traumatic grief, youth with problematic sexual behaviors, and more.
Follow these steps to become trained and certified in TF-CBT:
Pre-requisite
TF-CBTWeb (https://tfcbt2.musc.edu) is an online prerequisite for attending any TF-CBT basic training. The pre-requisite costs $35 and takes about 10 hours to complete. CEUs are provided upon the completion of the online course. In order to be admitted into any basic training, the pre-requisite certificate must be sent to Anna at anna@cazimiconsulting.com before the training begins.
2. Basic Training
The basic training is a 16 hour training typically held over the course of two days. We provide the training virtually, as well as in-person around the state of Minnesota. During this training you will learn about and practice each component of TF-CBT. Training cohorts are in groups of 24-36. CEUs are provided upon completion of the training.
3. Consultation Calls
Each basic training participant will sign up for ongoing consultation calls. Meetings will focus on the implementation of the model with clients, as well as complex client issues that can emerge. These calls will take place once per month in groups of 12. They will start the month after the basic training, and last for 14 months. During this time each participant will present two TF-CBT cases. The calls are crucial for learning to practice TF-CBT. In order to become TF-CBT certified trainees must attend a minimum of nine calls, present two cases, and complete a minimum of one full TF-CBT case before the last scheduled call. Sign-ups for case consultation calls will occur once you are signed up for a basic training and are managed through the platform, www.ebptoolkit.com. Please look for emails from anna@cazimiconsulting.com.
4. Advanced Training
Advanced trainings dive deeper into the application of TF-CBT, including ways to adapt the model for specific populations. Each basic training is accompanied by an advanced training, which basic training participants are automatically enrolled in. We ask that training participants commit to all four days of training. CEUs are provided upon completion of the training.
